7 gift ideas to show mom some love this Mother’s Day

Mother’s Day is about showing love and appreciation to the moms in our lives.

It sneaks up on us each year…Mother’s Day. Since becoming a mother, I think every day should be Mother’s Day, but according to the National Holiday Calendar, it only falls once a year – so make sure your mom feels extra special on May 13th. Here are seven unique gifts to make mom feel cherished and loved on her special day.

For the Rancher Mom – For the mom who enjoys the great outdoors, riding horses and doing it in style, look no further than your neighborhood Boot Barn. Let me tell you, these Corral boots are beautiful and would look great walking out on the ranch or going out for dinner. Distressed lamb leather, a round toe, and cushioned insole, these would put a smile on any mother’s face.

For the Outdoorsy Mom – An overnight trip in one of the Cross Ranch State Park Yurt’s is the unique outdoor adventure for the mom who loves camping and sleeping under the stars. The Pretty Point Yurt is a year-round full-service yurt that sleeps up to 6 with gas heating, a kitchen, bathroom and two bedrooms or you can get closer to nature with the Bagnell & Ice Glider Yert that has electricity but no running water.

For the Mom Who Loves Sweets – Order a custom build-your-own chocolate box from and hand pick only the chocolate you know your mom will love. Choose from over 40 chocolates, caramels, fruit filled goodies and truffles to make the perfect chocolate box mom will love.

For the Mom Who Loves Paying It Forward – For the mom who loves to spread kindness, give her a gift that will help someone else out in the process. Headbands for Hope is a company that sells “pretty headbands for a prettier cause.” For every headband sold, a headband is given to a child with cancer. Similar to Headbands for Hope, Love Your Melon is a company that sells hats under the same concept as Headbands for Hope. Buy one beanie, and they give a hat to a child with cancer.

For the Mom Who Loves to Chill – For the homebody mom who likes to snuggle up at night with a good book or lounge in her jammies while watching Netflix, these UGG slippers are the way to go. The water-resistant suede, sheepskin lining keeps her toes warm in the cool North Dakota winters, and the rubber bottoms will keep her from slipping.

For the Mom Who is a Gym Rat – For the mom who hits the gym on a regular basis to lift weights, send mom in style with these new Nike Metcon Cross Training Shoes. The flat bottoms allow for a stable base on leg day, and the flexible support makes these shoes great for sprints. Mom will be strutin’ her best self into the gym to show off these hot new kicks.

For the Mom Who Loves Cooking – For any hobby chef like myself, who wouldn’t love this adorable apron to wipe hands on while making family dinners? These beautiful designs from Now Designs are priced reasonably and keep mom clean from spills and sauces. It’s hard to pick a favorite but my two are the Berry Patch or the Midnight Modern Apron.

Or skip the gift idea all together and make mom a homemade meal from scratch. Let mom play outside with the kids or sleep in a little later than usual. Cook up her favorite breakfast foods and have a late brunch or go outside and have a BBQ.

When it comes down to it, whether you spent $20 or $500, Mother’s Day is about showing love and appreciation to the moms in our lives.
